a black bird
Grackle, blackbird, crow, starling. I used grackles as references but for those who aren't so familiar with birds, he could be any of the many black ones that are always poking around. Acrylic, 11"x14".
Like the barn owl in my previous post, he is on found wood. There are several more in the works, as well as some woodcuts.

another letterpress class
This was a full day class incorporating text, block, and multiple color registration on the Vandercook press.
The print is collaborative, with each student carving their own blocks under instruction. Mine is the center block.
the first color. it's a blend roll |
blocks inked up with the second color |
there were 4 paper colors |
discussing and trouble-shooting registration issues |
the last one got printed upside-down. kind of neat effect. not shown: print on pumpkin colored paper |
without the blend roll |
my block. i was naughty and didn't clean it off, but i'm not going to be printing it again, and it looks so nice with the blue |

quiet, but not idle
Updates here and at my flea market blog have been few and far between but I've been keeping busy.
First order of business: garden mural commission. The client saw this pastel drawing and contacted me.
Waiting to hear yea or nay on these sketches:
